Application
Applications to the education degree program "Politics and Society" at the LMU Munich are only accepted for the winter semester. To obtain a place, you must apply and then enroll by the respective deadlines.

Proof of university entrance qualification is required for enrollment in the education degree "Politics and Society".
Neither discipline (sociology / political science) are subject to local admission restrictions ("NC subjects"), so you do not need to apply separately for each discipline.
Please note that both the application and enrollment processes are handled centrally by the Office of the University Registrat. All information regarding application and enrollment can be found on the MZL's website.
Academic orientation process
The academic orientation processes are intended to help applicants orient themselves and enable them to assess their suitability for studying sociology and political science.
Special requirements include text comprehension, independent thinking and working, basic mathematical skills, and a foundation in the English language.
The process consists of online self-assessments that can be completed from home, among other places. Please note that the assessments have been optimized for desktop use.
Participation is not mandatory for education degree students. The results of the assessments have no impact on admission to the program.
International students
International students must apply to the International Office.
Courses at the Department of Sociology are mainly held in German. Very good knowledge of German is therefore essential.
